The 425 lazy eye screening activity started in the implementation of the lazy eye screening program for children aged 3 to 6 years from November 1 and lasts for 60 days.
The expert in charge of preventing the well-being of Yazd said: "The Kokan vision screening project is being implemented in Yazd at the same time to prevent blindness and low vision in children.
Fatima Abtaleb Dukht added: 425 bases in the province, including 25 permanent bases and 400 non-permanent bases, carry out the prevention of laziness in children aged 3-6 years.
He said: 500 executives have been trained to implement vision and assessment services in bases, kindergartens and health homes.
Experts in Yazd Babian Disability Prevention Experts say the project has been implemented in Yazd province since 74: Laziness of the eye is a symptomless disease that is not commonly recognized by the family but is the second cause of severe visual acuity or blindness in adults.
He explained that the plan was based on three phases of the examination: by checking if the child is healthy; he or she will be given a visual health card and if a child is suspected of being screened for referral to the optometrists referred to the contracting authority. It is then given to an ophthalmologist if he or she has surgery.
Abtaleb Dukht Babian The golden age of diagnosis and treatment of lazy eye is under six years continued: If the disease is diagnosed quickly and treatment begins, the child will have no problem; the treatment will be simple and closed with a healthy eye; But if the child is over six years old and the disease is not diagnosed, treatment can be very difficult and usually not over 10 years old.
He said that about 85 percent of children in the province are examined every year from 85 to 6 years. He said: Last year 54,000 children were screened for implementation of the scheme, 320 of which were amblyopia or laziness if diagnosed. They could not, of course, be visually impaired or blind in their teens.
Although the primary goal of the plan is to identify amblyopia, other vision disorders are also being identified and followed up to complete treatment, with the implementation of the plan annually identifying about 2,500 types of vision disorders, including laziness, the expert said.
Abutaleb Dukht, saying that the examination through the device and the E-chart table had the same accuracy and validity and that the families should not have to worry about it. He said that the families would pay about one-third of the cost in the second phase and the rest would pay the welfare organization. ؛ The cost of ophthalmology is also free and part of the costs will be covered by welfare if you need glasses or surgery.
He emphasized that families should go to see their child every year; he said, "A child may be examined for one year, but he or she will be lazy the next year, so the child must be examined at the age of three to six years each year." .
