An
overview of the statistics of the elderly in Iran and the world reveals
the fact that the growth of the elderly population in the world is such
that in the years to come, especially in developing countries, there
will be a problem called "blast of elderly population", so that if in
the year By
1950, the world has lived 200 million elderly. According to forecasts,
this figure will reach one billion by 2020 and will reach over 970.1
billion by 2050, and is projected to be the first in this year Human history The number of people over the age of 60 will be equal to the number of children.
Along
with the world, Iran has not suffered this demographic change, and with
the increase in health, health, and social indicators, the index of
life expectancy in the country has now reached 74, and it is expected
that the population over the age of 60 By 1400, Iran will account for more than 10 percent of the country's
total population, and in 2050 it will account for over 20 percent of the
population.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO) indicators, our
country is now entering the first stage of aging, that is, a population
between 7 and 14 percent of the elderly, and is expected to enter the
third stage (over-aging), which is more than 21 percent of the
population aged over the next 30 years.
What
is worrisome about our country is that while some developed countries
such as France have 60 years to transition from the first to the second
stage of aging (aged population between 14% and 21%) to manage it well. And plan to face it, but we have less than 20 years to pass this
phase, and it can quickly address the country by managing an aging
crisis.
To
properly and wisely deal with the phenomenon of aging, we must believe
that the seasonal aging of the seasons of life and in fact the last
season of life, which the scholars refer to as a period of comfort and
tranquility, the period when man after a transition from a difficult
process Life
and after many years of work, he expects to have the result of his
suffering in the gardens of life and spent years in complete physical
and mental relaxation, but a few factors, especially in countries like
us, For
the last season of life, instead of being a season of peace and
tranquility, it has become a season full of suffering, sleeping and
feeding from Demi steal not only the elderly, his family, his community and in the larger frame involved.
In
fact, it should be believed that although the growth of aging
population in societies is indicative of success in raising the standard
of living and success of health programs and a great honor, it is also a
great challenge to challenge itself and once a human society is able to
It faces the challenge of being integrated into comprehensive policies
and programs with dynamic performance management assurances.
In
other words, although population aging is to some extent a sign of
success in public health interventions, public health programs must be
responsive to this inevitable phenomenon. In
fact, what is said to be an extension of the aging population does not
in itself matter, but what is important is the consequences and
consequences that this increase in population has on different social,
economic and, in particular, health and healing dimensions, and That should and should be, and perhaps older people, and an
ever-increasing phenomenon of particular concern to the statesmen and
planners of the executive agencies, so that in the near future, we will
not fight our elderly tsunami.
In a wise approach to the gray-hole phenomenon of societies, this
phenomenon has to be examined from a wide range of angles, and in
different directions it has a healing version and a well-planned and
expert planning.
Elderly
is a multifaceted phenomenon and inevitably, for its correct and
knowledge-based management, there should be an all-round and
multi-faceted plan; in this regard, it should consider all the needs of
the present and future of the elderly, the elderly family and the aged
community and the elderly community. And
planned for it, including the basic needs of the elderly, such as:
proper employment, adequate income, health care, basic and supplementary
insurance, suitable home, appropriate equipment, leisure optimization,
marriage Elderly,
respecting and maintaining the position of the elderly in the family
and community system, social participation of the elderly, and h Var active in the political, social, economic, and more.
But
among all these priorities and needs of the elderly, who are
anticipating and planning how to deal with it in a one-way manner and
from the duties and responsibilities of governments, planning to have an
active, dynamic and healthy aging is about the importance of several There is a two-way communication relationship that, apart from the
government, the elderly has a role to play in achieving and achieving
it.
The
World Health Organization defines Active Aging as the process of
optimizing opportunities for health, participation and security to
enhance the quality of life of older people, and the concept of dynamic
aging applies to individuals as well as to demographic groups. This
concept gives people the opportunity to realize their inner capacity
for physical, social and psychological well-being throughout their
lives, and to participate in society and social affairs according to
their needs, desires and capacities, while protecting them, Ensure adequate security and care when needed.
The
goal of aging is to increase the quality of life and health of all
people, including those who are weak, disabled and those who need
constant care, and active aging means the continuity of participation in
social, economic, cultural, spiritual and civic relationships. Not just Physical or employee participation. Accordingly,
the aging period should be a positive experience in life and a longer
life with health, participation and security, and the elderly enjoy it,
the WHO has defined the approach to this process as "active aging" and The goal is to improve the quality of life associated with age. In
fact, aging is a natural phenomenon in a person's lifetime, although it
can not be prevented from occurring, but it can be delayed by actions
or its immediate consequences. In
order to achieve and have health and well-being in the elderly as well
as achieving a healthy, dynamic and efficient old age, many factors are
involved, including: 1. A sense of purpose in life 2. Having effective
and effective social support 3. Habits proper Health
during life 4. Healthy living environment 5. Independence and
participation in personal, family and social affairs 6. Individual
behavioral characteristics 7. Having a positive and constructive view of
life Afterwards, it should be believed that the elderly who retire from
work, Due to having valuable experiences, they can still play an active and effective role in society Executive
affairs, family support, peers, communities and nations, and should
plan to strengthen this role and make this generation more influential
in societies. Therefore,
in the framework of aging, dynamic policies, plans and programs that
enhance the mental health and social relationships of the elderly are of
the same importance as programs that improve the health status of the
health and that is why the WHO aims to provide a boost The
social presence of elderly people in societies has selected "Moving to
the Future: Taking Advantage of the Elderly, Partnership and Partnership
in Society" as a special slogan to commemorate the International Year
of the Elderly in 2017.
