Anxiety screening project for children 5-6 years old in Mehriz city

The head of the Mehriz Welfare Office announced the launch of a 5-to-6-year-old child anxiety screening program in day care centers in the city.
According to Mehriz Wellbeing Public Relations, Reza Zare said the project is aimed at identifying children at risk of anxiety in kindergartens and preschools in the city.
He said that the most common childhood disorders are anxiety disorders, and often the symptoms of this disorder are confused with the child's normal developmental process, hampering timely diagnosis and interventions, and childhood anxiety disorder and transient attention and treatment. Failure to continue through adolescence and adulthood may result in impaired academic, social, and occupational performance or lead to depression and drug abuse.
By timely identifying and designing timely interventions, children can be helped by parents and educators to control their anxiety and lead a normal life.
He added: Last year, 408 children were screened in the city, with suspected cases being referred to a psychologist, psychiatrist, etc. after the second screening. Preschool and kindergarten run for two months.
