Exhibition of Zoroastrian elders' abilities opened in Yazd

On the occasion of the Fajr Decade of the Revolution, an exhibition of Zoroastrian elders' abilities was inaugurated on Saturday by a number of local welfare and community leaders at the Poruchista Rehabilitation Center on Basij Boulevard in Yazd.
According to the Public Relations Department of Yazd Province, Ali Mohammad Atabakhsh, Director General of Yazd Welfare, referring to the establishment of the mentioned center in the last 5 years, said: One of our honors is that the center is launching the exhibition.
"It is our duty to respect the elderly," he said. "They are a social asset, and honoring them is a step to boost the morale of the elders."
He noted: The elderly are our fathers and mothers, the generation that is in control of society today, they are educated.
The executive director of the exhibition said that in this exhibition, 5 works of art by 5 Zoroastrian elders in Yazd have been exposed to enthusiasts.
Gita Zandian added: These works include crafts, visual arts, design, woodworking, pottery and so on by the elderly.
He said the purpose of the exhibition was to familiarize the citizens with the artistic work of this group, to motivate the elderly and to create a happy and joyful environment among the different groups and stated: The exhibition will be open to the public for three days from 4-5 pm It's set up.
Zandian added: "This year's exhibition has been held for several consecutive years and has been welcomed by Yazdi citizens and the elderly, especially Zoroastrians.
 The director of Pourchista Yazd Rehabilitation Center also presented a report on the activities of the center and said that the center will hold various classes such as reading, Shahnameh and painting in order to rehabilitate the elderly.
Ancient Zoroastrians benefit from the center's services, said Shahrokh Bastani.
The opening ceremony of the Zoroastrian Elderly Community Exhibition was in Yazd.
There are currently about 6,000 followers of this ancient Iranian cult in Yazd province, with Zoroastrians in Iran having a representative in the Islamic Consultative Assembly.
Yazd province has a population of about 1.5 million people, constituting 4.8 percent of the population.
