Yazd is the first province to provide free genetic counseling

Director General of Welfare in Yazd province said this during a meeting with Friday Imam Mahrez said: According to this plan, all marriages in the province in order to prevent disabilities, genetic screening.
Dr. Jalil Efati, referring to the description of the welfare duties, said that welfare is the birth of the revolution and is shaped by the development of welfare and social justice, poverty eradication and attention to the vulnerable classes of society.
He stated that the Yazd Welfare Fund, referring to the implementation of the special education program for married couples, said: "This project will be implemented in order to train family life skills for couples on the verge of marriage and consolidation of the foundation of the family."
The Welfare Directorate of Yazd province, referring to the institutionalization of popular participation in welfare, said the vast majority of welfare services to the target community are provided through charities and nongovernmental centers.
He acknowledged the protection of vulnerable classes as one of the welfare responsibilities and said that identifying the ability and capacity of individuals and empowering them is considered.
