Deputy Minister and Head of the Welfare Organization told reporters: The adaptation of the city of Yazd to provide this historic and ancient city can be a place of reference for all disabled people in the country and from all over the world to visit historical sites.
Vahid Ghobadi Dana, noting that we serve more than 32,000 people with disabilities in Yazd province, said: "Half of them have physical and motor disabilities and more than 600 people have spinal cord injuries."
Referring to the presence of about 5,500 blind and 5,000 deaf people in Yazd, he said: "320 of our people with disabilities are also students, and therefore the adaptation of the urban environment, offices and devices should be such that the disabled person can take care of himself." The head of the welfare of the country praised the implementation of the Haft Khan project in Yazd and said: "Today is a memorable day for people with disabilities and this is a good action by the municipality and Yazd city council with the full support of provincial officials who have a very positive and benevolent view." He added: "This makes it possible for a person with a disability to leave the house when the conditions are so good and accessible that he can cross the street alone."
Ghobadi Dana called the implementation of adaptation projects in defense of the rights of the disabled and said: the conditions should be suitable for a person with a disability to be able to live an independent, honorable and dignified life and participate in society and within the family and in bed. The society can also do its activities like an ordinary citizen, and we are obliged to exercise this right according to the law for the protection of people with disabilities.
