The head of the Meybod Public Health Bureau announced the implementation of a community-based rehabilitation plan with a new approach in the villages in the central part of the city.
Seyyed Mohsen Fallah, in a meeting with the provincial capital of the central part of Meybod, said: "The CBR is a strategic plan within the community development program for the rehabilitation of people with disabilities, the equalization of opportunities and the social inclusion of people with disabilities." Through joint efforts by the disabled, family, community and other governmental and nongovernmental institutions.
In connection with the purpose of the project, he stated: community-based empowerment plan aimed at identifying people with disabilities in order to provide rehabilitation services and provide the equipment needed by people with disabilities who do not have access to the services of the service providers or can afford it financially. He added that other objectives of the plan could be to assure people with disabilities about their abilities, to provide people with access to public and regular services, to educate families and to prevent various types of disabilities, to provide opportunities for the participation of disabled people in society and in cases.
The head of the Weibod Welfare Organization regarding the implementation of the project in rural areas said that the project was implemented in rural or deprived areas with the aim of identifying rural people with disabilities, providing rehabilitation services and providing the necessary equipment that did not have access to the services of the service provider Or they can not financially.
He said: "In fact, this is a process for developing community-based rehabilitation services and equalizing opportunities and increasing the presence of people with disabilities in society through the participation of people with disabilities, their families, the local community, health care system, education , Professional, social services and well-being.
Falah continued: The plan is being implemented to provide better services to poor people at the village level, with the help of local facilitators, health care workers, dignitaries, councils and other social groups.
He said about the project's breadth: In implementing this plan, the services provided to a disabled person in the village will be provided by local facilitators in a variety of fields, such as treatment, employment and education.
The head of the welfare organization said that facilitators of the relationship between people with disabilities and social workers added: "Facilitators, in cooperation with the council and village councils, identify and provide services to people with disabilities." Hence, there are significant differences with previous approaches to rehabilitation that have limited the provision of services to specialized people and in specialized centers.
He reminded that local and middle-class facilitators, health care workers, diners, health centers and rural settlements are partners in the implementation of this plan.
At the end of the day, Fallah urged that the necessary support and measures be taken to enable them to play a role in society, in order to provide the ground for employment and the fitting of passageways for the disabled.
It is worth mentioning that the CBR community-based rehabilitation project in Iran provides six-person services to the disabled, including: family education, community education, referral system, rehabilitation assistance, employment and disability employment, and social assistance services for disabled people. Changing the negative attitudes towards the disabled and entering them on the social scene through strengthening their abilities, in order to fulfill their five principles, the principle of equality, the principle of social justice, the principle of solidarity, the principle of the integration of the public and the principle of dignity and self-esteem.
