Dr. Jalil Efati said that there are 7.5 million elderly people in Iran today, which will reach 10 million in 2020, and there are more than 100,000 elderly people in Yazd province. He added that in the province more than 40 centers provide services to the elderly, and our priority in boarding centers is to address people who are less concerned with the family and lack the necessary support, or that families They do not have the ability to keep these people. "This center is like an elderly school that elderly people receive from peers in the centers from morning till evening, and they receive arts and entertainment services and rehabilitation services," said the manager responsible for the development of the centers of daily aging as the most important body of welfare. He cited 60 percent of the elderly as women and 40 percent men, saying birth rates are declining and life expectancy is rising, which has led to an increase in aging populations. "At present, the aging population is equivalent to the population of children under the age of 5, and the vast majority of this population is equivalent to a population under the age of 14," he said. It is worth mentioning that the Yazd City Council honors the leaders of the 6 centers of daily aging in Yazd in an open meeting this morning on the occasion of the elderly week.
